In professional environment, there are several instances when the interpersonal relationships are in danger for one or several reasons. This paper would analyze the various attributes of the interpersonal communication as well as emotional intelligence by exploring three hypothetical situations. The first situation deals with an instance in which one of the team members has borrowed the procedure manual of the team and failed to return it on time. The person did not return it even after the completion of two weeks. This is a grave situation in which the other team members are not able to neither ask the concerned person directly nor compromise the loss of productivity due to the absence of procedure manual. In such a situation, the team members would react aggressively and ask the concerned person to return the manual as soon as possible. It is possible that there are some arguments between the concerned team members regarding this issue. The team members pass through turbulent emotional situations in which they fear the damage of the interpersonal relationships (Lei et al. 2015). However, it is important to undertake specific action which would lead to the return of the important document. The concerned person should be reminded politely regarding the return of the procedur e manuals. The importance of the procedure manual for ensuring the success of the team should be demonstrated well to the concerned employee. The value of the document should be communicated well to the employees. The feedback of the manual should be asked from the concerned person in a social networking website like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or others. This should be done by mentioning about the need of the manual by the other team members for maintaining smooth operational efficiency. The idea of taking feedbacks in a public forum would definitely make the concerned person understand about the importance of the document. This would also modify his psychological parameters which would enable him to return the procedure manual to the concerned authorities. If the above procedure does not give optimum results, then it is a good option to give gentle reminders to the concerned person. It is important to foster a good interpersonal relationship with the concerned person even though their specific activities are not always acceptable (Heider 2013). One should be patient, forgiving, considerate, empathetic and try to understa nd the worth of the relationships. The second situation involves the unfair treatment of an employee by his supervisor at the workplace. The supervisor may attack the employee by several verbal means such as humiliation in public, communication with sarcasm, ignoring the employees and sending messages that contain personal attacks. In such situation, the concerned person would act assertively and try to give adequate reasons for his unfair treatment. He would justify whether the behavior of the supervisor is not acceptable. The unfair treatment of the employees is common in the workplaces and this causes emotional imbalances in the concerned employee (Peng et al. 2016). They may start to question their existence in the organizations and may leave the organization. Even if they do not leave the organization, there is a significant reduction in their work performance. This issue must be addressed properly in order to avoid any negative circumstances. The first thing to do in this type of situation is to listen to the supervisor and find out the exact reasons for his worry. This should be done in a calm and polite manner. It is better not to defend oneself at the first instance. It is often found in the majority of cases; the problem identification is done in this stage only. The concerned employee must try to remodel his actions or work output which is causing the supervisor to worry. However, in other situations, where there are no backlogs from the employees point of view, it can be concluded that the supervisor is doing it deliberately or some or other reasons. In such situation, it is better to have a face to face discussion in order to clear any misunderstanding that may have surfaced between the two parties. In case of further issues, the concerned person may approach the human resource department for resolving of the grievance. The third situation deals with a circumstance in which a colleague is habitually late whenever an appointment is being made. It may be irritating situation in which the coworker is unable to fulfill the time specifications. In this fast paced and competitive world, the loss of time may decrease an employees productivity (Buckingham and Coffman 2014). In this situation, it is best to passively address the issue and make the other person understand that it is important to maintain time while engaging in professional endeavors. In the professional world, the consistent latecomers are not respected and they have to face serious consequences regarding the same (Sharma Goyal and Panwar 2014). The employees are expected to stick to timelines whether it is concerned with timely arrival at meetings, adhering to task deadlines or timely entry in the workplaces (Sharma Goyal and Panwar 2014). It is important to understand the reasons of this menace. There are some individuals who are not good at their time management skills. There can be others who are not serious with their work and find it absolutely fine to arrive at the meetings in their own convenient time. This issue should be taken seriously so that such instances do not happen repeatedly. It is not advisable to avoid such situations. An effort should be made by conveying about the issue to the concerned person in a polite manner. It is important to focus on productivity issues in these kinds of conversations. The loss suffered due to the late coming must be communicated to them clearly. The bad behaviors at a professional place should not be accepted and a written warning should be sent to the concerned employee. In case the concerned employee is late for meetings, then it should be ensured that the team work does not suffer due to his bad behaviors. Conclusion The three situations presented above portray the three independent circumstances in which there is a possibility of the breach of the good interpersonal relationships. However, the approaches discussed here would not only help in strengthening the interpersonal relationships but would also aid the person to effectively solve the particular issue. Humans communicate both verbally and nonverbally. The term also refers to sharing or to make common and is defined as a process of understanding. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.18). This process is an activity, an exchange, or a set of behaviors.(Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.170). These processes or exchanges can lead to anger, which may in some cases, produce results of serious consequences. Anger can be defined as a great feeling of displeasure, wrath, fury, or indignation. Misunderstanding during the exchange of information will create conflicts. These conflicts must be resolved to enable communication in a mundane atmosphere. Disagreements and misunderstandings in communication may result in substantive conflict. These substantive conflict or intrinsic conflicts as defined in human communication, are disagreement over ideas , meanings, issues and other matters, will all lead to communicative anger. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.145). Anger in our communicating with others can be confrontational. These occurrences may result in physical abuses or mental abuses. The venom of anger rages throughout our society today, regardless of culture or elegance or community standings. Today I will examine the interpersonal communication within my cohabiting relationship. I will discuss the confrontations, the displayed behaviors, the physical attacks, and the reprisals. For interpersonal relationship to be successful, there must be mutually positive communication present at all time. My relationship is far the opposite and is continuously plagued with confrontations. The underlying reason stems from the very aggressive behavior of my partner. There seems to be no behavioral flexibility in the ability to adapt to new situations and to relate in new ways when necessary. (Pearson, 2000). These adaptations are an integral part of communication in any interpersonal relationships. In my relationship there seems to be a confrontational attitude each time that we discuss any state of affair that may exist in our daily living. A recent confrontation took place, when she asked to borrow a sum of money, which I promptly loaned her until such time as she had requested. The time came when the loan should be repaid, and I asked in a very serene and respectful manner for the money to be repaid. She immediately started to accuse me of being a cheap SOB and asked, Why should I repay you? I promptly reminded her that it was a loan as she had requested, and that when someone borrows money, normally it needs to be repaid. In all her replies she would become very loud and boisterous, never giving an inch. She would be so close that her breath felt like a puff of strong wind. Whilst at the said time she would be hurling insults, and daring me to collect the funds owed to me. Eventually, to avoid the constant barrage of insults both verbally and nonverbally I would forfeit and inform her, that she was welcome to keep same. The outrageous behaviors that are displayed by my partner, most times are annoying to me. On one occasion I had to take my car to the shop, and I asked her to pick me up and take me to work on a particular day. Before leaving to drop my car off at the repair shop, I woke her, and informed her to get ready, as she would have to do some extra driving. This will therefore require an early start to avoid us being late for work. I stood at the repair shop and waited for a very lengthy amount of time and had less than ten minutes to get to work, which was 15 miles away. She came and picked me up and started out on the highway. I noticed that the speed she was driving had reached 105 mph. I requested she slowed down in fear of us getting into a terrible accident and being killed.. At this time she promptly pulled the car over and ordered me to get out of her #@emailprotected% car. In all communication with my partner, she seems to enjoy these confrontations. She once told me, It gives her a great feeling of power. This seems to be a win/win situation for her at all times. Take the case of the lawn that may need to be attended to. Her approach would be Dont you see the lawn needs cutting? I would examine the lawn and suggest a different time period to cut the lawn, because at this time I do not see the need for same to be cut. She would demand that it be cut immediately, and if I refuse, she w ould attack me both verbally and nonverbally. I would state my point and walk away to avoid the confrontation and the escalation that I most certainly know is imminent. But she would follow with her demands, and eventually on my refusal, I would be physically attacked. The misunderstandings and failure of communication in our interpersonal relationship has led to stress and has spilled over into my work and has in certain instances affected my work performance. My partner would plan reprisals in order to satisfy her revengeful lack of communication, which stems from her rage and anger. In another occasion she would call me at my job to argue and accuse me of anything that may displeases her. If I do not answer she would promptly leave disparaging messages that whenever I would listen to them would be very upsetting to me. If I refuse to argue on the phone from my work and refuse to answer, she would constantly ring the phone for up to thirty minutes or until she gets an answer. In one occasion I asked my co-worker to take the call and my partner would hurl the same abuses and verbal attacks at her. I have requested many times for us to sit and try to effectively communicate and iron out our differences in a civil and appropriate manner. During our conversation her voice would be very loud although we are less than six inches apart from each other. I would constantly ask her to lower the tone of her voice. In our discussion I would try to encourage disclosure of all our differences. I would express understanding of her traumatic experiences. She would explain to me of her childs father leaving her at age 19 with a child to rear by herself with no job and no economic assistance. She would also disclose to me of her own father leaving her with her mom and four children alone to struggle on their own. She would explain to me how she was raped and the trauma she endured from these many experiences. I would show empathy and understanding of her plight and make suggestions. It seems in general, people are reluctant to self-disclose because they do not respect themselves or they do not trust others, or both. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 pp.168-171). This disclosure although not positive, seems to relive the tension and cut the anger in our communication somewhat. An interpersonal relationship requires trust and great tolerance. One must bargain and be ready to compromise when solving differences. Many of our communicative behaviors that may have exploded in anger could be from our failure to divulge to our partners information that we may consider to be negative. Defensiveness and being self-centered are causes that lead to destructive relationships. Because of the anger and failure of communication in our relationship I eventually decided to call it quits. But after further discussion I suggested to her if she would seek counseling for her aggressive behaviors, I would be willing to try, and continue if there is improvement. She is now in counseling for the second time thru my companys counseling program. She seemed to calm down, and her communication has dramatically improved. We all want to have successful interpersonal relationships. We want to be able to trust others and to self-disclose to them. We must be able to handle conflicts, and to use conflict resolution techniques that are mutually satisfying for all. Controlling our anger will eventually lead us to communicate more effectively. We must ultimately learn that communication is dependent on the interaction between two or more persons, and one person cannot guarantee its success (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.178).

How will colleges look at your multiple test scores? Will they look at all your scores? Just your highest score? Will they average your scores and use that number?Standardized test scores are an important part of applying to college, but itââ¬â¢s not always clear how colleges will determine your ACT scores if youââ¬â¢ve taken the test more than once. Infact, most schools do NOTrequire you to send in all your scores, and ACT, Inc. makes it easy to choose which scores you want to send with an option referred to asScore Choice. (Note that the phrase "Score Choice" is technically more associated with the SAT Score Choice program, but the ACT has a similar policy for its own test score reporting.) Schools that require you to send in all of your ACT scores will be referred to as "All Scores" schools. Both types of schools are discussed in more detail below. Score Choice ACT Score Choice gives you the option to send schools only the ACT scores you want them to see,rather than sending scores from every ACT you took. On the score report request form, you will be asked to list your college of choice and the test date you want to send on each line. For schools that allow Score Choice, if you did poorly on one test date, you donââ¬â¢t need to send that score to schools, and they will never see it. Regardless of whether a school uses superscoring or highest sitting, will they look at your "non-best" ACT scores as well? There's no clear-cut answer to this question since it varies for each school and often for each applicant; however,many times schools will look at your other test scores, even if your best score is the one they give the most weight to. This is particularly true for schools that require all scores sent. In these cases, your scores still won't be averaged, but schools mayreview all your scores and make inferences if there were any outliers. For example, if you take the ACT three times and get composite scores of 32, 27, and 33, most schools will use 33 as your "official" ACT score, but they may wonder why you got a 27 for one test. One outlier score will usually have a small, if any, impact on your application, but it's still important to never blow off an ACT examjust because you think schools will only look at your best score. As mentioned above, schools that allow Score Choice only see the scores you send them, so you can take the ACT several times and only send your highest scorein order for that to be the only resultsthey see. This is in contrast to other systems such as a Professional Judge which makes use of a career attorney delegated by the state to become a courtââ¬â¢s sentencing decision maker. This is the mode among countries such as Japan and the Philippines. Besides from the jury which employs lay persons (lay in the sense that they may have little education in law), there also exists the lay judge where a layperson (singular) serves as the judge. This system can be found in many tribal communities where religion governs and legal codes and education are not yet well established. The jury is supposed to be the protector of the individualââ¬â¢s rights from the decision of the state by having the case presented to peers or equals of the accused who by being peers can understand the motivation or plight of the accused.
