Doctors began to preform tests to see what illnesses could be contributing factors. In particular, obesity has about seven deadly contributing factors. The number one factor is nationally known for the deadliest, which is heart disease. Heart disease is medically familiar as coronary heart disease. It is a disorder of blood vessels that constricts an artery potentially leading to a heart attack. This cannot be cured, but there is medication that can help the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart more easily. Another factor of obesity is high blood pressure. According the the American Heart Association when a person has high it is when the pressure in your arteries are too high, and this may lead to a stroke (What is High Blood Pressure?). If the stoke is experienced a person will then need to attend respiratory therapy because, breathing complications were developed. Due to increased weight lack of respiratory compliance occurs. The excessive weight on the child or adult tightens the chest making it complicated to breathe so the person is then diagnosed with asthma . Obesity also increases the chances of some cancers such as: gallbladder, kidney, breast or thyroid.

Answer: Introduction The emotional intelligence is one of the indispensable skills which is used in both personal as well as professional lives (Goleman Boyatzis and McKee 2013). The emotional intelligence comprises of several factors such as emotional awareness, self-control, understanding others and drives of achieving excellence (Ciarrochi and Mayer 2013). In professional environment, there are several instances when the interpersonal relationships are in danger for one or several reasons. This paper would analyze the various attributes of the interpersonal communication as well as emotional intelligence by exploring three hypothetical situations. The first situation deals with an instance in which one of the team members has borrowed the procedure manual of the team and failed to return it on time. The person did not return it even after the completion of two weeks. This is a grave situation in which the other team members are not able to neither ask the concerned person directly nor compromise the loss of productivity due to the absence of procedure manual. In such a situation, the team members would react aggressively and ask the concerned person to return the manual as soon as possible. It is possible that there are some arguments between the concerned team members regarding this issue. The team members pass through turbulent emotional situations in which they fear the damage of the interpersonal relationships (Lei et al. 2015). However, it is important to undertake specific action which would lead to the return of the important document. The concerned person should be reminded politely regarding the return of the procedur e manuals. The importance of the procedure manual for ensuring the success of the team should be demonstrated well to the concerned employee. The value of the document should be communicated well to the employees. The feedback of the manual should be asked from the concerned person in a social networking website like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or others. This should be done by mentioning about the need of the manual by the other team members for maintaining smooth operational efficiency. The idea of taking feedbacks in a public forum would definitely make the concerned person understand about the importance of the document. This would also modify his psychological parameters which would enable him to return the procedure manual to the concerned authorities. If the above procedure does not give optimum results, then it is a good option to give gentle reminders to the concerned person. It is important to foster a good interpersonal relationship with the concerned person even though their specific activities are not always acceptable (Heider 2013). One should be patient, forgiving, considerate, empathetic and try to understa nd the worth of the relationships. The second situation involves the unfair treatment of an employee by his supervisor at the workplace. The supervisor may attack the employee by several verbal means such as humiliation in public, communication with sarcasm, ignoring the employees and sending messages that contain personal attacks. In such situation, the concerned person would act assertively and try to give adequate reasons for his unfair treatment. He would justify whether the behavior of the supervisor is not acceptable. The unfair treatment of the employees is common in the workplaces and this causes emotional imbalances in the concerned employee (Peng et al. 2016). They may start to question their existence in the organizations and may leave the organization. Even if they do not leave the organization, there is a significant reduction in their work performance. This issue must be addressed properly in order to avoid any negative circumstances. The first thing to do in this type of situation is to listen to the supervisor and find out the exact reasons for his worry. This should be done in a calm and polite manner. It is better not to defend oneself at the first instance. It is often found in the majority of cases; the problem identification is done in this stage only. The concerned employee must try to remodel his actions or work output which is causing the supervisor to worry. However, in other situations, where there are no backlogs from the employees point of view, it can be concluded that the supervisor is doing it deliberately or some or other reasons. In such situation, it is better to have a face to face discussion in order to clear any misunderstanding that may have surfaced between the two parties. In case of further issues, the concerned person may approach the human resource department for resolving of the grievance. The third situation deals with a circumstance in which a colleague is habitually late whenever an appointment is being made. In this situation, it is best to passively address the issue and make the other person understand that it is important to maintain time while engaging in professional endeavors. The employees are expected to stick to timelines whether it is concerned with timely arrival at meetings, adhering to task deadlines or timely entry in the workplaces (Sharma Goyal and Panwar 2014). It is important to understand the reasons of this menace. There are some individuals who are not good at their time management skills. There can be others who are not serious with their work and find it absolutely fine to arrive at the meetings in their own convenient time. This issue should be taken seriously so that such instances do not happen repeatedly. It is not advisable to avoid such situations. An effort should be made by conveying about the issue to the concerned person in a polite manner. It is important to focus on productivity issues in these kinds of conversations. The loss suffered due to the late coming must be communicated to them clearly. The bad behaviors at a professional place should not be accepted and a written warning should be sent to the concerned employee. In case the concerned employee is late for meetings, then it should be ensured that the team work does not suffer due to his bad behaviors. Humans communicate both verbally and nonverbally. The term also refers to sharing or to make common and is defined as a process of understanding. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.18). This process is an activity, an exchange, or a set of behaviors.(Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.170). These processes or exchanges can lead to anger, which may in some cases, produce results of serious consequences. Anger can be defined as a great feeling of displeasure, wrath, fury, or indignation. Misunderstanding during the exchange of information will create conflicts. These conflicts must be resolved to enable communication in a mundane atmosphere. Disagreements and misunderstandings in communication may result in substantive conflict. These substantive conflict or intrinsic conflicts as defined in human communication, are disagreement over ideas , meanings, issues and other matters, will all lead to communicative anger. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.145). Anger in our communicating with others can be confrontational. These occurrences may result in physical abuses or mental abuses. The venom of anger rages throughout our society today, regardless of culture or elegance or community standings. Today I will examine the interpersonal communication within my cohabiting relationship. I will discuss the confrontations, the displayed behaviors, the physical attacks, and the reprisals. For interpersonal relationship to be successful, there must be mutually positive communication present at all time. My relationship is far the opposite and is continuously plagued with confrontations. The underlying reason stems from the very aggressive behavior of my partner. There seems to be no behavioral flexibility in the ability to adapt to new situations and to relate in new ways when necessary. (Pearson, 2000). These adaptations are an integral part of communication in any interpersonal relationships. In my relationship there seems to be a confrontational attitude each time that we discuss any state of affair that may exist in our daily living. A recent confrontation took place, when she asked to borrow a sum of money, which I promptly loaned her until such time as she had requested. The time came when the loan should be repaid, and I asked in a very serene and respectful manner for the money to be repaid. She immediately started to accuse me of being a cheap SOB and asked, Why should I repay you? I promptly reminded her that it was a loan as she had requested, and that when someone borrows money, normally it needs to be repaid. In all her replies she would become very loud and boisterous, never giving an inch. She would be so close that her breath felt like a puff of strong wind. Whilst at the said time she would be hurling insults, and daring me to collect the funds owed to me. Eventually, to avoid the constant barrage of insults both verbally and nonverbally I would forfeit and inform her, that she was welcome to keep same. The outrageous behaviors that are displayed by my partner, most times are annoying to me. On one occasion I had to take my car to the shop, and I asked her to pick me up and take me to work on a particular day. In all communication with my partner, she seems to enjoy these confrontations. She once told me, It gives her a great feeling of power. This seems to be a win/win situation for her at all times. My partner would plan reprisals in order to satisfy her revengeful lack of communication, which stems from her rage and anger. In another occasion she would call me at my job to argue and accuse me of anything that may displeases her. If I do not answer she would promptly leave disparaging messages that whenever I would listen to them would be very upsetting to me. If I refuse to argue on the phone from my work and refuse to answer, she would constantly ring the phone for up to thirty minutes or until she gets an answer. In one occasion I asked my co-worker to take the call and my partner would hurl the same abuses and verbal attacks at her. I have requested many times for us to sit and try to effectively communicate and iron out our differences in a civil and appropriate manner. During our conversation her voice would be very loud although we are less than six inches apart from each other. I would constantly ask her to lower the tone of her voice. In our discussion I would try to encourage disclosure of all our differences. I would express understanding of her traumatic experiences. She would explain to me of her childs father leaving her at age 19 with a child to rear by herself with no job and no economic assistance. She would also disclose to me of her own father leaving her with her mom and four children alone to struggle on their own. She would explain to me how she was raped and the trauma she endured from these many experiences. I would show empathy and understanding of her plight and make suggestions. It seems in general, people are reluctant to self-disclose because they do not respect themselves or they do not trust others, or both. (Pearson Nelson, 2000 pp.168-171). This disclosure although not positive, seems to relive the tension and cut the anger in our communication somewhat. An interpersonal relationship requires trust and great tolerance. One must bargain and be ready to compromise when solving differences. Many of our communicative behaviors that may have exploded in anger could be from our failure to divulge to our partners information that we may consider to be negative. Defensiveness and being self-centered are causes that lead to destructive relationships. Because of the anger and failure of communication in our relationship I eventually decided to call it quits. But after further discussion I suggested to her if she would seek counseling for her aggressive behaviors, I would be willing to try, and continue if there is improvement. She is now in counseling for the second time thru my companys counseling program. She seemed to calm down, and her communication has dramatically improved. We all want to have successful interpersonal relationships. We want to be able to trust others and to self-disclose to them. We must be able to handle conflicts, and to use conflict resolution techniques that are mutually satisfying for all. Controlling our anger will eventually lead us to communicate more effectively. We must ultimately learn that communication is dependent on the interaction between two or more persons, and one person cannot guarantee its success (Pearson Nelson, 2000 p.178).

How will colleges look at your multiple test scores? Will they look at all your scores? Just your highest score? Will they average your scores and use that number?Standardized test scores are an important part of applying to college, but it’s not always clear how colleges will determine your ACT scores if you’ve taken the test more than once. Will colleges average your ACT scores if you take the test multiple times? In short, no.Colleges don’t take the average of your scores. Instead, they will look at your â€Å"best† score;however, there are multiple ways a school can determine your best ACT score.In this article, I’ll go over the different methods schools use to look at multiple ACT scores, if they require you to send all your ACT scores, and how you can use this information to your advantage and help strengthen your college applications. Do You Need to Send Schools All Your ACT Scores? Before you start wondering what colleges do with multiple ACT scores, the first thing you need to know is whether they require you to send the results of every ACT you took in the first place. Infact, most schools do NOTrequire you to send in all your scores, and ACT, Inc. makes it easy to choose which scores you want to send with an option referred to asScore Choice. (Note that the phrase "Score Choice" is technically more associated with the SAT Score Choice program, but the ACT has a similar policy for its own test score reporting.) Schools that require you to send in all of your ACT scores will be referred to as "All Scores" schools. Both types of schools are discussed in more detail below. Score Choice ACT Score Choice gives you the option to send schools only the ACT scores you want them to see,rather than sending scores from every ACT you took. On the score report request form, you will be asked to list your college of choice and the test date you want to send on each line. For schools that allow Score Choice, if you did poorly on one test date, you don’t need to send that score to schools, and they will never see it. You may end up sending a school more than one ACT score, either because theyrequire it or because you earnedmultiple strong scores and want schools to see them. Highest Sitting Most schools, if you send them more than one ACT score, will simply use yourhighest ACT composite score from a single test date. This is because superscoring combined all of her highest section scores from across the three tests. If you take the ACT with Writing, that section isalso included in superscoring. For schools that use superscoring, this student would be considered to have a composite ACT score of 31, and her section scores would be each of those listed under the Superscore row. Superscoring benefits you because schools combine your best scores from each section of the ACT into one superscore, even if those scores didn’t occur in the same test.Wondering which colleges use superscoring? We have a complete list of schools that superscore the ACT. Will Schools Look at Your Other Scores? Regardless of whether a school uses superscoring or highest sitting, will they look at your "non-best" ACT scores as well? There's no clear-cut answer to this question since it varies for each school and often for each applicant; however,many times schools will look at your other test scores, even if your best score is the one they give the most weight to. This is particularly true for schools that require all scores sent. In these cases, your scores still won't be averaged, but schools mayreview all your scores and make inferences if there were any outliers. For example, if you take the ACT three times and get composite scores of 32, 27, and 33, most schools will use 33 as your "official" ACT score, but they may wonder why you got a 27 for one test. One outlier score will usually have a small, if any, impact on your application, but it's still important to never blow off an ACT examjust because you think schools will only look at your best score. As mentioned above, schools that allow Score Choice only see the scores you send them, so you can take the ACT several times and only send your highest scorein order for that to be the only resultsthey see. The next sections give more recommendations on howyou can use school score policies toplan and improve your ACT preparation methods. Can You Take the ACT as Many Times as You Want? Since most schools will useyour best ACT score, either by using superscoring or highest sitting, does that mean you can take the ACT as many times as you want in order to maximize your chances of getting a high score? Not exactly. You are allowed to take the ACT up to 12 times, and schools will continue touse your best score from those tests, whether by using superscoring or highest sitting.However, itisnot recommended that you actually take the ACT 12 times. Generally, you shouldn’t take the ACT more than five or six times. Taking the ACT more than six times can cause schools to think you don’t take the test seriously or have trouble improving your scores. It can also becomevery stressful and time-consuming,not to mention extremely expensive, because you have to keep paying to take the ACT and to send your scores to schools.Taking the ACT as many times as you can is particularly a bad idea if one of yourschools requires All Scores sentbecause itincreases the chance of you having an off-day and getting a lower than usual score, which those schools will see and which can possibly hurt your chances of being admitted. Instead of taking the ACT as many times as you can, you should instead look at your test prep methods and how effective they are. Is your studying targeting and improving your weak areas? Are you learning what mistakes you make and how to avoid them? By putting time and effort into studying effectively, you will be able to reach your target ACT score more easily than simply taking the ACT over and over.In general, we recommend taking the ACT two-three times to get your best score, regardless of whether the schools you’re applying to use superscoring or highest sitting to determine your best score. Autobiography original writing Essay I had five months to sort out my work experience placement and thought that I had more than enough time in which to do so. Before long, however, I was called to Mr Williamss office, the man in charge of finalising the work experience. I had just found out that I had overnight to get a placement somewhere, otherwise Ill be stuck in school with year 9 for the week. My ideal placement would be something to do with sports because thats my favourite subject in school but I knew I couldnt find somewhere and get a reply all in one night. The only placement I knew I could go without having to wait for a reply was with my mother! My mother works at Cardiff University in the Biochemistry Unit. Im still not sure exactly what she does, but I think its something along the lines of teaching and researching into cells. Before I knew it work experience had almost arrived. It was very tense around the house; I suppose I was excited because I didnt have a clue what I was going to be doing and also a little scared for the same reason. The first morning was pretty easy because I had no dress code, and as my mother is her own boss, I had no strict hours either. Also I didnt have to be polite around my mother, so I could just be my self. I was sort of expecting it to be boring working with my mother but nothing could prepare me for what I did on my first day. My first chore of the day was to fill, empty, sterilise and prepare bottles for other people. This wasnt very challenging, so I got bored quickly. In the afternoon my mum noticed I was bored, so let me do the jobs she hates. Firstly, she made me sort out the bookshelves in her office. This included sorting out a 6ft long shelf full of catalogues, into alphabetical order and to date. The earliest being from 1992. After finishing that, she put my keyboard skills to good use by making me type out the register on the computer for four of her classes. At the end of my first day I was disappointed for not having had a fun day. I also felt worried in case my whole week would be this boring. The second day was a little bit more challenging. In the morning I had to draw pictures on a computer for my mothers poster. This was irritating because nothing was perfect enough for her. She kept on making me change the smallest details, and I realised that day that she was the fussiest person I knew, but the finished product managed to satisfy her. In the afternoon I worked with my mothers friend, Mike Turner, who works in the Electro Microscopy Unit in the university. This is where they take pictures with really big powerful microscopes. At first I was quite shy because Ive never met him before. I suppose I was expecting him to be a shy brainy man that wouldnt really talk to me. On the contrary, he would not stop talking and make jokes. I felt like I could talk to him easy and that made me feel comfortable beeing there. He sat me down by one of the microscopes and made me look at bugs and flowers through it. This was different and I enjoyed it more than my mothers office, although it got boring after a while sitting in front of a screen just looking at bugs. On the third day, I met another of my mothers friends, Guy Pitt. He is a photographer and developer in the university. I wasnt that nervous because my older sister did the same for her work experience and told me he was the best man to work with, and he was by far the best person who looked after me that week because he thought about what I might like to do. He gave me an expensive camera and sent me around town to take photos of anything. I took pictures of Cardiff Castle and animals like birds and squirrels. In the afternoon I met Mike Turner again and took pictures of cells with his microscope camera. Although he was enthusiastic about the cells I didnt find them that interesting and just pretended to like the pictures I took. The fourth day was the best day of the week. I was in Guys hands for the day. I met him in the morning and he gave me the camera with a new film and sent me to town again and told me to return at two oclock. In town I met a lot of my friends and went shopping and took pictures of a burnt building that was in ruins. When I returned we changed the films into negatives in the dark room by using all sorts of chemicals, and let them dry for Friday. On Friday, Guy and I changed the negatives into real pictures. He was very impressed with the pictures I took of the burnt building and asked if he could keep some. This made me feel good of my self and made me consider a career in photography, maybe sport photography. We finished by eleven oclock so he gave me the afternoon off and I went home. I enjoyed the experience despite having doubts about it at the beginning of the week. The best part of the week was working with Guy, he really made me think about my career.

I Took the Road More Traveled The great oak table stood in the middle of the room, warped by heat from an old wood stove in the corner.   Its dark brown finish had boiled up in the center into little pockets of wax and cure, and that was its grand history--a hundred years or more of Christmas dinners and knives hammered thoughtlessly into the wood.   The leaves and edges drooped down, worn under the weight of rough, uncultured elbows and wood bundles for the stove.   Underneath, the modest planks gave way to the graceful arch of the leg, terminating in the vicious paw of a huge dog, polished claws gleaming on the drab floor. At night the legs tapped their way upstairs, past the rooms of sleeping adults, stopping at the unfamiliar bed in which I slept.   The moonlight illuminated every glistening nail slathered in dew and blood with fierce intensity.   That evil table, with hairy paws like a dog, a lion, a monster, came to devil with the shifting patterns of blue, playing on my coverlet and left again before the silvery, delicate cicadas pealed their morning mass. And I was afraid. At the table, my chin barely reached my cereal bowl and my legs dangled wildly above the floor.   I eyed the strange woman who stood at the kitchen counter and gazed out at the morning.  Ã‚   "Miz Edna," I said, "Where'd ya get this table?" "Well now child, I don't rightly recall.   It came from my grandmother, I reckon." I couldn't imagine Edna's grandmother.   My grandmother was already very old and very wrinkled.   She stooped when she walked, and shuffled along the floor with a cane.   Edna looked like that, and she said her heart hurt when she looked at pictures of her children.   That was an affliction which plagued old people; sometimes I had heard they died of it in a shocking and abrupt manner.   Edna's grandmother must have been very old, even older than mine. Manufacturing process * Harvesting It all starts on the plantations, where farmers tend to the coffee plants and harvest the coffee cherries, usually by hand. The next thing they have to do is separate the bean from the outer shell of the cherry. This is done either by drying the beans in the sun or by washing them in a pulping machine before drying them. * Drying To get at the coffee beans inside each cherry, the beans need to be separated from the skin, pulpa and parchment.This is achieved by drying the cherries under the sun or by soaking the cherries in hot water. The dry beans have a greenish tinge and are therefore known as ‘green beans'. They are usually exported for blending and roasting. By combining different types of beans you can give the resulting coffee a more rounded taste. They turn to yellow once they absorb heat and then to brown as the beans lose their water content. The beans turn darker as they release their oils, giving the coffee its flavor. Alternatively, the coffee liquor is snap frozen and then ground into the required particle size.
